Perforated metal — a material usually hidden in ceilings and service panels — is bent into a tube and fitted with aluminium caps and custom-cast gypsum ends to house the electrical component. The perforations don't just reference the material's industrial origin; they do the work, breaking and scattering light across the surfaces around it. The effect is soft, textured and warm. Suits industrial, modern and mid-century dining rooms and workspaces.
Objects in the Derivatives Series are fabricated from reclaimed materials. Subtle surface variations are part of the material’s history and contribute to the individuality of each piece. The following terms describe the visible material character.
Great
Minimal visible surface variation. The material appears clean and refined, either preserving only faint traces of its previous life or presenting a newly applied finish.
Good
Minor surface marks or tonal variations may be visible, reflecting the reclaimed origin of the material.
Fair
Visible surface character including scratches, texture variation, patina, or signs of time from the material’s previous use.
