Alabaster has been used to diffuse light for centuries — its natural translucence does something no manufactured material quite replicates. Combined here with porcelain, the lamp produces a warm, dimmed glow that feels less like artificial light and more like the last of the afternoon. The form follows what the materials already do. Use it on a sideboard, a dining table, a bedside surface — anywhere warm, indirect light is more welcome than brightness. Suits eclectic, minimal and bohemian interiors.
Objects in the Derivatives Series are fabricated from reclaimed materials. Subtle surface variations are part of the material’s history and contribute to the individuality of each piece. The following terms describe the visible material character.
Great
Minimal visible surface variation. The material appears clean and refined, either preserving only faint traces of its previous life or presenting a newly applied finish.
Good
Minor surface marks or tonal variations may be visible, reflecting the reclaimed origin of the material.
Fair
Visible surface character including scratches, texture variation, patina, or signs of time from the material’s previous use.
